The Cherub Study Skirt is a wearable interpretation of historical textile archives, combining classical cherub imagery, ornamental motifs, and botanical dyeing techniques into a singular collectible garment.
Created using the historic cyanotype process and naturally toned with madder root, the skirt carries layered archival narratives across its structured denim surface. The imagery develops uniquely through light exposure and natural dye absorption, resulting in a piece that cannot be replicated.
Designed with a structured silhouette and clean architectural lines, the skirt functions both as a standalone artwork and as part of the complete Cherub Study ensemble.

The Process
Each skirt is individually created through:
• Hand preparation of the denim surface
• Application of archival cyanotype imagery
• UV exposure printing
• Natural madder root dyeing
• Slow washing and finishing techniques
